Press Reviews
Because We Can started their set strongly and as they meant to go on. The lack of people luckily didn't effect their show (I liked that). They were metal with bits of rock and grunge influences coming to the surface from time to time. Michaels vocals were strong but changeable sounding like Maynard J Keenan at times and through the whole rock spectrum to vocal lines like Eddie Vedder and J. Hetfield. The tempo was good and intense and very innate to their metal sound. Guitarist Bruce covered backing vocals and harmonies well also singing main vocals on a few songsMetal sounding music isn't my sort of thing but Because We Can made me appreciate it. A few years ago there were so many local metal bands and now there are many less. BWC are very, very good at what they are doing and they're in the perfect situation to sell them selves to the metal buying public. The track that shone was 'Out Of Time' and is the one to watch out for. The band played a much more serious type of music than their support act and kept well to the roots of metal without falling too much towards the traps of Nu Metal styles like Korn and Slipknot but edging enough that way to keep the young audience happy.A brilliant night had by all!!Man in a suit |
