Artist History
It all started on May 27, 1989 when 4 guys got together to do an impromptu rendition of Take 6's "If we ever" at the Rollington Town SDA Church. They realized they could harmonize and from this humble beginning has grown Jamaica's premier acappella group, Word! Over the years the group has shared stag with world-renowned artists such as Kirk Franklin, Crystal Lewis, Miriam Makeba, Hugh Masekela, Shirley Caesar,Babbie Mason,Sounds of Blackness, Jimmy Cliff. They have even performed an arrangement of the South African national anthem before Winnie Mandela. The group has won numerous national music awards and in the process has released two albums. Their latest offering "Doin' Fine", released late 1999 is set to expose them to audiences the world over. |
