    Artist History
Wendy recorded her first album of original songs at age 18, backed by acclaimed Australian jazz-rock band Crossfire. She toured with them as the opening act and also opened for Ry Cooder on his Australian tour. A studio singer in Sydney, Australia for 12 years, she also appeared regularly on television performing original compositions.Wendy has run workshops in Australia, the USA and the UK since 1990, turning thousands of people towards their untapped singing abilities. She taught with Chris James, founder of the "Discover Your Natural Voice" program, for four years, and together they recorded two albums of original songs and traditional chants.Wendy's live relaxed performances incorporate humorous and heartfelt stories of her life and travels. At a New Year's Eve Event at the Woodford Folk Festival (Queensland Australia), she engaged 15,000 people in spontaneous singing and chanting. Her current album of original folk music, "Infinite Sky", presents Wendy singing and playing guitar and piano, joined by: Mary Doumany on harp; Riley Lee on shakuhachi; Cleis Pearce on electric viola; Peter Biffen on tar-hu, Zana Clarke on recorder; John Hoffman on flugelhorn; Alex Pertout on percussion; and Jeremy Alsop on bass.Wendy's composing skills translate her personal experiences into evocative Iyrics and simple, strong melodies which touch the heart. She sings of love for her daughter, connections with friends, the magic of love, and the feelings when love wanes. "Whale Dreaming", a song of a dream of swimming with whales, reflects Wendy's profound love of nature. "Sacred Isle", a Celtic melody with haunting harp strains, conveys the awe Wendy experienced on the mystical Scottish island of lona. "Uluru", a sacred aboriginal site in Central Australia, musically paints the Rock's majesty and describes its spiritual effects as felt by Wendy. In October 1997 the Brisbane Conservatory Choir and Jazz Orchestra performed a track from "Infinite Sky", entitled "The Journey", including it in a medley along with compositions by Thelonius Monk and Pat Metheny.
