Press Reviews
Nominated "Best of Boston." Inclusion on the "Demo that Got the Deal" Compilation CD produced by Joe Viglione. Review from LISTEN.COM: "With a guttural but warm voice (you can hear the moustache), singer-songwriter/leader Gary Ackermanspins bittersweet yarns evocative of small towns and truck stops. Equal parts country and folk, astellar guitar player steals the spotlight from a seasoned Nashville rhythm section. Reminiscent ofonly the best '70s country crossover such as Charlie Rich and B.J. Thomas, the Max Tyler Band willbe a small treasure for both snobby purists and those just discovering the joys of "(Hey Won't YouPlay) Another Somebody Done Somebody Wrong Song." - Mike M. |
