Artist description taste represents a mix of hardcore rock ballads and jams that range from songs of the heart (he said she said, la de da) to political perspectives (clover) to instrumental jams (jelly). without regard to what genre or classification taste should be placed under, the focus remains on seeking that rock gem with the right touch of emotional intensity and energy. (note: taste is broken up due to graduation of 3/4s of the band)

Artist History as cadets at the United States Air Force Academy, justin mackey and grant mccall began jamming together after grants introduction of the band mineral to justin. they began jamming regularly and formed a band called dragline in the spring of 99, where they experimented with their first shots at songwriting. behind the amazing drum stylings of chris papa (USAFA class of 99) and the essential modesty of rhythm morgan hurt (USAFA class of 99), they learned what it felt like to rock with such gems as "incomplete", "free" and "organism." losing chris and morgan to graduation, justin and grant had too good of a musical chemistry to call it quits and recruited dave klein on the drums and brion coleman on rhythm. with a year of songwriting adventures and a new love for performing in their pockets, the songs began to pour out as did the boiler (tastes practice room was a boiler room three floors below the surface of the earth, it overheated while on christmas vacation soaking our intstruments and causing quite a set back in the creation of the rock which is taste). taste performed three live shows (two at Haps the local sports bar and one on the Terrazzo at USAFA) and one live acoustic set on grants radio show called indie event. in the microcosm of USAFA, taste had an instant stronghold of fans who clinged to such rock ballads as "he said she said", "la de da" and "clover" and the rocked out version of "tainted love." they begged for more and it became apparent that taste was something of a dream come true. justin, brion and dave all graduated in june of 2000 and went in different directions to persue their lives, leaving grant alone to rock solo.
