Press Reviews
"... Truly, this has to be one of the best underground bands that I've discovered ... A head-on collision between hardcore, alternative, and Dillinger Escape Plan-type jazzy interludes ... Every now and then they take a break from the heaviness and delve into short, spacey, jazzy interludes ... that serve as perfect counterparts to their heavier elements. But I've left the best for last, namely the band's vocalist. I admit he reminds me a lot of a more demented version of David Yow of Jesus Lizard fame ... but even more extreme. Basically, he sounds like a patient of a mental hospital that recorded his vocal sessions during a torture session consisting of being whipped with high pressure water jets ... His over-the-top vocal performance is the icing on the cake that propels Suburban Terror Project to more than just another hardcore/metalcore band, but a true original and disturbingly evil slab of hardcore nastiness. For a self-released album, this CD features excellent production ... and the unbridled intensity of the band has impressed more than a few of my death metal friends who usually ignore anything coming from the hardcore scene. That a band this good is not yet signed and has to release albums themselves is just mind-boggling. If anyone from Relapse is reading this, please pick this one up ... Suburban Terror Project is one of the best and most unique bands to ever come out of the U.S. hardcore underground and features a level of intensity and musicianship that is rarely heard in that genre." - Corridor of Cells
"... one of the best noisecore/math metal bands I have heard... Excellent musicianship, intricate song structures and highly technical time and tempo changes complemented by one of the most unique, energetic vocalists I have ever witnessed... Once you see them live, you will be hooked." - DTS Underground
"... subtle brutality that pushes into your head like a little Mack truck... Not traditional hardcore in any sense of the word, the music is as chaotic, brilliant, and evil as it comes!" - Face Towards Enemy
"I see this band going far... Gets right to the point of kicking your ass... Like Satan with a 1000w amp." - Garageband.com
"Suburban Terror Project´s music has a bit of everything... Grind crossed with good hardcore and a huge portion of hate... These songs are great and absolutely catchy... Awesome production." - Daredevil Magazine
"The favorite music of mass murderers." - CORE Ground Hardcore Zine
"Sick music ... sick voice ... entirely strange." - All Schools Network
"These guys are doing something I cannot really put a title or name on... A little different and definitely good!" - BludGawds Extreme Metal Resource |
