Artist description
From a greenhorn mp3.com net artist in 2000 to a songwriter for some of the biggest Chinese pop stars, Pong has always been insistent in writing music and lyrics that are wholesome and meaningful. Still calling mp3.com his ultimate home, Pong puts here only the stuff that he feels right about. Musically, although he has ventured into doing songs of different styles and with fuller arrangements, he stays true to the style for which he is known - acoustic piano / vocal based songs. Apart from writing songs for artists and himself, Pong also plays live gigs around town. |

Press Reviews
"You may not understand a word of Pong Nan's songs, but his music would certainly lead you to believe he's a romantic at heart. Light, catchy pop songs are fleshed out with a mere piano, but Nan sings with enough emotion to make the songs seem larger than life."- Listen.com / "An evocative, ardent song in Mandarin from this (mostly) accoustical Hong Kong artist whose sound is a softer side of middle class angst.Melancholy but genuine."--Sinomania China Soundz radio on "Winter's Boy" / "A very completed Ballade. Chorus is very strong. Very nice song indeed."--Chinese HIP Newcomers Radio on "Match" / "A really nice song... a really young and potential singer."--Chinese HIP Newcomers on "Walking Backwards" / "Very very very beautiful piano" - One Lump Music (Station) on "Shore / "Great live performance" - Indie HK (Station) on "Van Song Live @ Fringe Club" |
