Artist History
Never Ever was formed in 1984 with members Mat Madison (lead vocals), Greg Lanz (keyboards & vocals), and Guy Gilray (guitar). The band was originally called "Arctic Sun," but changed their name to Never Ever while recording their first album, entitled "Remote." The band was very active in the Portland live music scene until 1987 when they took time away from performing to record their second album, "Stop the Flying Flowers." In July of 1988, Mat Madison died of injuries sustained in a bicycle accident in Seattle, Washington. It was decided that Mat could not be replaced, so the remaining members separated. Never Ever reformed in 1993 with keyboardist Greg Lanz assuming all vocal parts, and his brother, Scott, adding a second guitar. They spent two years recording another album entitled, "Blind Faith Heyday." |

Press Reviews
"Holds up well to repeated listenings. We're talking major-league stuff here. A winner." -Bill Dempsey, Metro Magazine; "This band of unabashed Anglophiles has overcome electro-pop's main pitfall by recognizing the importance of songs and chops over preening and, quite simply, coming up with the goods." - Marty Hughley, Willamette Week; "The musicianship is quite tight and inventive... the production of the recording is impeccable." - S.P. Clarke, Two Louies; "I love the records this band makes. As for airplay, close your eyes and drop the needle..." - Buck Munger, Two Louies. |
