John Mallia is currently exploring the use of voice as a sound source in his electronic music and is making use of this technique in multimedia collaborations with poets and visual artists. Current projects include “Summons” a text-sound / text-graphic installation with poet Dana Dalton. |

Artist History
John Mallia's music has been performed throughout the United States and abroad by such artists and organizations as Yo-Yo Ma, Auros Group for New Music, Society for Electro-Acoustic Music in the U.S., International Computer Music Conference, Gaudeamus Festival, Amsterdam, Boston Microtonal Society, and the Groupe de Musique Experimentale, Bourges, France. He has been a visiting composer at the IMEB in Bourges, France, and is currently active as a participant in multimedia collaborations and a teacher of computer music and composition. |
