Similar Artists I'd love to think I sound like The Band, Bob Dylan, buffalo tom, Cracker, Johnny Hickman, Dan Cray, Wilco, poi dog pondering, tom waits, greg brown, david baerwald, etc. but rarely do.

Artist History I started out listening to hard rock, classic rock, and a bit of metal like a good early 80's teenager, and over time in a quest to find a more honest sound worked my way back through blues, folk, alt-country, jazz, bluegrass and R&B to the point where I will now find myself practicing Dock Boggs, and Stanley Brother's songs on Banjo at one moment, playing Afgan Whigs or Led Zeppelin riffs on a cranked up guitar a moment later, and then trying to learn but in fact butchering Ray Charles or Thelonious Monk tunes on piano ten minutes after that. The neighbors are not happy. What I'm left with is my indie friends saying I'm too "classic rock" and my classic rock friends saying I'm too "indie". Either way, I like playing the stylistic mishmash that I do.
