Artist History
Clydesdale’s four-piece lineup can be deceiving – they achieve a level of intensity unmatched by bands similarly constructed. The key to this is the members’ varied musical backgrounds. Two of the members, Rob and Bill, grew up playing the bass, Ken and Ben the drums. As they continued to develop and evolve as musicians over the years, focus has shifted for some of them. Ben come out from behind the drums to play guitar, sing, and otherwise damage himself, and Bill made the natural change to guitar and vocals, where his melodies can stand on their own. Rob and Ken have stuck with bass and drums, respectively, continuing to refine their musical skills – both have been playing for over a decade. Their progression as musicians has allowed Clydesdale to solidify their composing as well as their live performance. Their rhythms and tight playing stand out behind the wringing melodies, allowing them to achieve a truly unique sound. |

Press Reviews
“What is refreshing about Clydesdale is that there are few bands in the local scene right now exploring this intelligent, ‘working man’s’ form of post-hardcore.”“’The King of Teaneck’ is a winning combo of unexpected syncopations and Slint-esque soft-to-hard build-up.”James QuirkThe IslanderOnce I got a good idea what the negatones were about; on to the melody we ran to see Nj's Clydesdale for few tunes. Clydesdale, have come up in the ranks very quickly. Singing songs about Tree forts, their jawbox/police influenced guitar riffs, rock the house indeed.Dave UrbanoSlashandburn.net |
