Artist description
Based on repeatition and delay, the music of Schrodinger's Cat (from Canada) never sounds the same thrice while exploring the four dimensions of sound. It's music to drive to work to. It's loud. It's quiet. It's boring. |

Press Reviews
Schrodinger's Cat stuns audiences at BVFMS Midsummer Festival 1998. Genesis: Schrodinger's Cat, the experimental musical ensemble that was formed in early 1998 by aural sculpturists David Green and Alan Piffer, debuted to the world in front of a captivated live audience on Saturday, June 27, 1998 at 10:00 AM in Smithers, BC. The show featured instrumental, entirely improvised performances save for two covers of the King Crimson instrumental pieces Vrooom and Red. Green and Piffer delivered astonishing performances throughout on their respective instruments of bass guitar and electric guitar, occasionally utilizing different effects devices to assist in bathing the packed venue in blissful washes of tonal ambience. During the various improvised sections a myriad of influences were touched upon, ranging from Chicago Blues and Bebop to 20th Century Classical - a sublime mix of sounds hinting at new, previously-uncharted music forms to be digested for the current generations of music enthusiasts and for generations yet to come.In spite of sound system glitches, the concert (or, dare I say it, the odyssey of sound) drew rave reviews from those in attendance. This localmusic fest, and the musical experience in general, may never be the same again. |
