Artist History “Reggie is a powerful saxophonist and with the assistance of a few background vocals, his latest project certainly proves to be one for your listening enjoyment.”-Min. Reggie’s musical interest began as a child in grade school, continued through high school and was perfected as he studied music at Indiana University for 2 years. One of his first experiences as an instrumentalist occurred in the early 70’s while performing with vocalist Kelly Patterson. Thirty years later, Reggie has become a solid saxophonist experienced in playing all of the saxophones. With just enough improvisation to be classified as a Gospel Jazz instrumentalist, his rich, soulful sound and ability to gently caress melodies while bringing life to the simplest song can be heard on such gospel recordings as Terry Garmon and Terri Carroll CD. His recent performances include touring with the Chicago based female Gospel group Endowed to Rochester, New York, appearing as a featured artist of the Chicago Gospel Fest and a band member of Dan Willis and the Pentecostals of Chicago. In his quest for freedom in musical expression, Reggie put to work his skills in digital recording and ability to passionately express himself through music and produced his debut recording, “Part of Life.” The CD is comprised of upbeat, contemporary sounds, as well as soothing ballads proving that Reggie is a skilled saxophonist with the ability to capture the heart and soul of the listener. Each song with the assistance of background vocals is a musical interpretation of the importance of his music and Christ as a part of life. The serene sound and maturely controlled lyricism displayed on “Part of Life” is sure to be a great addition to any Jazz collection. Currently, Reggie is working on the promotion and distribution of “Part of Life” which includes performing at many local and abroad venues. He is also preparing for his second recording project that will feature a broader range of musical expressions.
