Artist description
Being an experienced British singer/songwriter, Pamela Newlands has many ambitions. The biggest of these is to have as much success in America as she has had in her native Scotland. These tracks are the first of many that Pamela has written as a solo artist. Previously she has been performing live and in studio sessions with various bands. With wide ranging musical tastes, she quotes early influences in songwriting in such artists as Carole King and in vocal styling, Karen Carpenter. Pamela's musical style can be classed as guitar pop with strong folk roots. As an experienced session vocalist she has an ear for harmonising which punctuate her vocal style. When it comes to songwriting 'strong, simple and melodic' is her philosophy. |

Artist History
An experienced session vocalist originally from Scotland, Pamela currently lives in LA. After being discovered by the director of independent film Honeyrun, she made the important decision to move to LA from her hometown of Glasgow. This enabled her to concentrate on performing full time and she recorded five of her original songs for the movie and is currently scoring eighty-five minutes of film. She is providing music and performing vocals on the score of short film, Time in Hand. Both projects are currently in
post-production.
As a session vocalist, Pamela worked with independent label Wild Biscuit Music and performed lead vocals on various tracks for their debut album. Wild Thyme was recently released in the UK.
During her varied singing career, Pamela was the lead vocalist of a five part Scottish girl group. The band received extensive media coverage and were chosen to perform with Natalie Imbruglia and Travis at a charity concert in Glasgow. During this time, Pamela was also featured on a BBC morning radio show with her own slot called 'Pamela's Pop Diary'.
Choosing to go solo and write and perform her own material has brought Pamela many gains. Her move to LA and involvement with the movie projects has boosted her music career on both sides of the Atlantic and various newspapers and music magazines have interviewed her on this success. Recent developments include being commissioned by a UK TV channel to film a short documentary on her life in LA, a studio project with a producer in Tennessee and various collaborations with songwriters across the USA.
Pamela can currently be seen performing live acoustic sets around LA.
