Artist description little devil doubt is what happens when you hole yourself up in a cottage in the middle of a northern winter. little devil doubt is what happens when you learn guitar by playing along with old cure, rem and bowie albums. little devil doubt is sussing things out. little devil doubt is chris ault -- he wrote every word and played every note of every instrument on his current album, half-full and clear. chris lives in austin, where he gets paid to write and to make web sites, but he'd really rather be making music. half full and clear is a demo, in that it wasn't recorded in a proper studio paid for with someone else's money. chris recorded it in his living room, and in a couple cases his dining room. listen carefully and you can hear the footsteps of the woman upstairs, or the screech of the neighbor's cat outside
