Artist description
Together the members of Jimmi Rigg have created an artistic blend of music, which is emotional, energetic, and punk. Mike on lead vocals, Jesse on guitar, Ryan on bass and Bobby on drums may have started a couple of years ago as a simple, everyday garage band in Orange County, but they have developed a style and talent of their own that far surpasses the stereotypical images of a garage band. Jimmi Rigg is considered Punk, however each member adds their own personalities, style and influences, putting them in a category of their own.In an attempt to spread their music, Jimmi Rigg has played on various stages. They have developed a strong local following through playing at community events and local clubs. Earlier this year, Jimmi Rigg took first place at their regional Battle of the Bands. The same night Jimmi Rigg won first place, the title for their new release, Hydrants Ahead was born. After the show one of the band members, while loading the equipment into his truck, backed into a fire hydrant, causing water to stream out and flood the whole parking lot. As their fans rushed over to see the hilarious scene, the band realized they must take advantage of the situation. Jimmi Rigg’s EP, Hydrants Ahead, is scheduled to be released this summer, featuring the awaited songs, “Knock me Down” and “Little Girl”. |

Press Reviews
"The debut EP from this Orange County-based quartet is a clever mix of punk styles, somewhat reminiscent of The Dead Milkmen. The title for the CD comes from the night the band won a local battle of the bands contest and proceeded to back over a fire hydrant as they were leaving the set. With siz songs and three of them under two minutes forty, the EP gives a good overview of Jimmi Rigg's strengths. Their furiously paced tunes bristle with catchy melodies and excellent vocals. The hard-edged "How You Live" is a brilliant piece of power punk showcasing some fine guitar work, while the opening tune, "Knock Me Down" is a frentic little rocker with the type of commercial appeal that ever band wants on their dayview. Their label, Next Era Records, has gone the extra mile and put together a very high quality jewel case and sleeve for the EP. "Hydrants Ahead" is a good start for this band and a sure promise of better things to come." -Skratch Magazine |
