Artist description Idiot Box has gone back to its original name, TV Set (http://www.mp3.com/TVSet). Idiot Box 2000 was a solo project from 1997 to 2001. The sound was deadpan eighties technorock. Since there are 20 other groups using the name Idiot Box, and since TV Set played out as a solo act in 1988, it was decided to retire the name. Who cares anyway....

Artist History Idiot Box 2000 began as a lip-synch performance on "Chic-A-Gogo" (an independent cable variety show) in 1997, was Demo Tape of the Week on Chicago's WKQX-Q101, and has played out in Chicago a few times since then. Idiot Box 2000 was formerly lead singer and only guitarist in TV Set, which played out in Chicago sporadically between 1987 and 1996.
