Artist History Anders Rex founded the solo project A.REX in April 2000. He has participated in the Danish underground scene since the early punk days, 1979. He had a taste of success with "The Tide" in the late eighties; a band influenced by The Velvet Underground, Stooges and Television. The band broke up in 1992 after a long period of low creativity and bad habits. Aside from A.REX Anders is also involved in the avant electronica ensemble Svartbag, a 2-piece band featuring 2 guitars and a sampler. A.REX was the obvious platform (after 20 years of band playing) for the performer and singer/songwriter to create his own material and have full control with music, lyrics and sound. With the start of his homepage www.mp3.com/arex in May 2000, he had immediate success with the song "By my friends" which made the charts as the 8th most downloaded song in the experimental genre. This success was followed by immense feedback from listeners and established numerous new contacts. Now Anders Rex is working towards putting on a live act - and one thing is for sure, it will be loud and beautiful. Right now, new songs emerge and the spirit and energy is back. There is still hope, that minimalistic Rock`n Roll will be played and heard again.
