Artist description We have a heart for Israel and the Jewish people. Y’HUDA ("Praise" in Hebrew), combines Scripture with Biblically-based praise and worship to point prophetically to the Messiah, Yeshua (Jesus). Christian, Messianic, and Jewish communities are discovering how the Jewish roots of Christianity are significant to G-d’s eternal plan. Y’HUDA uses music to share the Jewish roots of Christianity, to invite the Jews to seek the G-d of Israel, and to encourage love and support for the Jewish people. Since 1967, more Jews have accepted Jesus as the Messiah than in all previous years combined. The Messianic "Movement" actually began 2000 years ago by Jesus. He was the Jewish Messiah and a Jew. All the initial followers were Jewish, and all but one of the writers of the Bible were Jewish, so the early church was Jewish indeed. However, the history of early Christianity reveals a misguided and deliberate effort to remove Jewish practices. As a result, the modern Church does not know its Jewish roots or their significance.Scripture prophetically says that G-d will gather the Jews again in the land of Israel and give the Jews control of Jerusalem, and that all of Israel will be saved. The birth of Israel as a Nation in 1948, the regaining of Jerusalem by the Jews in 1967, and the rapid growth of the Messianic movement are today’s evidence that G-d has not forsaken or replaced the Jews. G-d is keeping His Word and the time to favor Zion has come!Why the Church?Christians and Jews have more in common than most realize. Unfortunately, most Christians do not know or understand their Jewish roots or G-d’s eternal plan for the Jewish people. The fact that Christianity is based on the G-d of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the same Jewish Scriptures, and the Jewish Messiah makes it impossible to deny the connection. It is impossible to fully understand the New Testament without the Old; it is also impossible to fully understand the Christian faith without a knowledge of Biblical Judaism.Romans 11 gives an important message to the Gentiles in the Church. The Church’s history of anti-Semitism includes the Crusades, the Spanish Inquisition, and even Hitler’s claim to be a Christian. The Church should guard against anti-Semitism. Genesis 12:3 says "I will bless those that bless Israel and I will curse those that curse Israel." Yeshua said, "love one another", and "love your enemies". Do Christians love the Jewish people? How do Christians show the love of Christ to the Jewish People? Hear what G-d is saying to the Church.What is Messianic music?G-d commands us to "sing praises to Him." The Bible is full of references and instructions for praise and worship. Messianic music combines Hebrew and English lyrics from Scripture in a Davidic style to offer praise to G-d. Artist History "Shield of David" is the innovative debut recording from the Dallas Texas based messianic group. The name (which means "praise" in Hebrew) says it all. This CD is a pleasing mixture of messianic jewish, gospel, and Eastern European folk music with a bit of Texas-styled "good news blues for the jews" thrown in the mix for good measure. 12 original songs by Ted Pearce with Deanne Ebner on backing vocals/guitar and Elizabeth Schiller on viola. They have appeared with messianic pioneers Lamb and were asked to perform at the re-marriage of Melody Green, widow of Keith Green. They have done a foreign missions trip to Romania where they were invited to minister in various Orthodox Jewish Synagogues, churches, bible schools and drew quite a crowd with daily street evangelism!Most of the lyrics of this album are taken directly from scriptures in the Tenach [Old Testament] which point prophetically to the Messiah Yeshua. This CD is evangelical in focus and worshipful by design.
