Artist History
Formed in 1997, five high school friends decided to play songs for parties in their town. Members Brian Moore, Shaun Corley, Jesse Helton, Wes Burk, and Mike Hagan decided to write original songs. They played a few shows, original music festivals, etc...but due to the lack of scene in Central IL, not much was coming from their expliots. So the band, after graduating high school and going to college, decided to break up. Kinda. Mike, being mean, kicked out Wes and Brian, deciding he and Jesse and Shaun could take over the task and form a punk band, The Recipients. But, Mike was wrong, and the Recipients sucked. So, after a year of major suckage, Mike, Jesse, and Shaun bit the bullet and asked Brian and Wes to join back in and re-form Welfare Christmas. Luckily, they complied, and in March of 2000, Welfare Christmas was reborn, and they started writing bigger and better songs. What you're hearing here is the newest Welfare Christmas stuff, recorded by Mike Wake at Jett Studios, July 24-28, 2000. |
