Artist description
We like to screw off a lot and make fun of anything, and we bitch about everything. But, it's a great time! Our favorite sayings are "I'm quitting the band" and "I already mailed that to myself." |

Artist History
In 1997, I (Korey Birkenholtz guitars and vocals) started showing Jason Engel (guitars) how to play the guitar. From there we started playing cover tunes and writing our own shitty songs that really sucked. Then, in the fall of 1998, my friend Josh Parker and I decided to start a band (now called Index Case). It wasn't really working for me to stay in the band because I was at the time attending the University of Northern Iowa and it was hard to jam a lot with the guys. In the spring of 99', I decided to leave the band and start one on my own (Simple Complications), which has worked out great. I immediately started writing my own material and in June of 99' Engel and I wrote and recorded our first complete (not crappy) song together. While I was on my short journey with Index Case Engel was of at Iowa State perfecting and mastering his guitar playing ability. Ten months and a lot of hard work and long hours later, we finished our first and so far only album, "And I Wanted To Believe You..." Completed April 2nd, 2000, recorded at the Dex Inn, and produced by Josh Parker (Index Case) and Simple Complications. In July of 2000 I decided to quit school and shoot for a dream. So right before my senior year began, I did just that and rejoined Index Case as their bassist. So far so good. |
