Artist description
A highly expressive and inventive musician, Robin Radus successfully draws on inspiration and intuition to evoke a wide range of emotion through his music. As a pianist and keyboardist, singer, bamboo flute player, and composer, this multifaceted perfomer's style and range reflects many years of pleasing diverse audiences. Whether exploring deeply lyrical chordal interpretations of jazz standards or taking a happy-go-lucky free-for-all approach to the same, this musician's dazzling virtuosity is always balanced with a large measure of genuine good humor and delight at the many unexpected twists and turns improvisational jazz has to offer. Not exclusively a jazz performer, Robin Radus continues to distinguish himself with his ever-expanding collection of original recorded material representing many different musical styles and genres. From poignant love songs to bizarre forays into the frontiers of musical humor, whether playing heart-wrenching keyboard synth solos or singing intricately textured vocal harmonies, this artist's diversity achieves unity through consistent quality and listenability. |

Artist History
Native New Yorker Robin Radus has been on the Manhattan and Long Island music scene for over two decades, performing in high-profile venues like the United Nations, Tavern on the Green, the courthouses, parks, libraries, and museums of New York, and the deeply-missed wonder that was Windows on the World. His music has been heard by a vast cross-section of diverse listeners all over the world. Since 1989, his ongoing collaboration with the free-wheeling, happy-go-lucky yet tradtional jazz sounds of the Dennis Bram Quartet (which is rarely limited to four players, but the name has stuck...) continues to serve as a source of inspiration for younger and older audiences alike. The Dennis Bram Quartet with Robin Radus has appeared at Carltun on the Park in Eisenhower Park on Westbury, Long Island regularly on Friday and Saturday nights since 1996. The duo of Dennis Bram and Robin Radus currently also appears on Thursday nights at Uncle Crumm's in Howard Beach, a relaxed gig at a cozy gourmet pastry shop/restaurant. When not performing, Robin composes new music and produces a series of inspirational, spiritually-oriented semi-instructional music and spoken word recordings focusing on the metaphysics of multitracking as a way of expanding consciousness and unifying potentials and alternatives. With guitarist Bill Farrish (an occasional performer at the Carltun himself), Robin further expands his musical horizons through the composition and performance of free-form, improvisational original music. Robin has appeared on numerous original albums and anthologies, and has appeared as a session player on many others. |
