Artist description
Considered to be among the hottest new Conjuntos Nortenos, Los Dorados Del Norte initially began in 1997, in San Antonio, Texas. It was started by Henry Perez, who with his younger brothers Chris and David, performed for local bars and family parties. In the beginning, the group was made up of four: Henry on bass, Chris on the accordion, David on bajo sexto, and a cousin, Leeroy Perez on drums. After about three years, Leeroy left the group to join another San Antonio group, La Tropa F. Since then the group has grown and greatly matured. They have added four new elements to their musical ensemble: Luis Ortiz on drums, Rudy Martel lead vocals and percussion, Diego Mercado saxophone, and as Master of Ceremonies Manuel Rivera. Los Dorados Del Norte has had the pleasure of performing side by side with many top recording and well known bands. On March the 8th 2002, they shared top billing with Pepe Tovar y Los Chacales at Rio Nilo; there they were introduced to Federico Rodriguez the top DJ of Norteno 720 AM., who launched off the groups first single, “El Rey De Reyes” written by Homer Vela. A few other bands that the boys have performed with are: local groups Los Sultanes del Bravo, Los Principles, Grupo Vida, Flaco Jimenez, and “Accordion King”, Ramon Ayala. Today, the newest challenge that the boys face, is finding the best recording studio, producer, and engineer. These seven individuals, who sole desire is to entertain the public, will go above and beyond that which is needed. For Los Dorados Del Norte, besides the infinite support of there family, there greatest strength is the support of there fans and radio stations, who motivate each step of there musical journey. There are many young bands out there, but only a few have the talent, dedication, and are goal oriented as Los Dorados Del Norte. |
