Artist description When Jamie T. Stevens started to record his debut album in 1997, the German music scene reacted with phenomenal feedback, so that one year later he ended up doing a huge Open Air Festival together with N’Sync in his hometown.Ever since then the German media has compared him to outstanding celebrities such as Savage Garden, Boy George, The Backstreet Boys or European’s new hit-sensation Westlife. So it is needless to say that Jamie’s style is a blend of some of the most exciting artists that have been on the scene for the last two decades.He started his career in 1995 working with Germany's top-notch producers Irmgard Klarmann (Chaka Khan, Lory Bianco, Jennifer Rush) and Felix Weber (Randy Crawford, LaToya Jackson) who also wrote five songs on Jamie’s debut album. Later he teamed up with LA-based songwriter Terry Lupton (The Party, Apollonia) and performed in many local TV shows throughout Germany. Finishing his debut album “The Wizard’s Call” has been Stevens’ most rewarding project so far. Throughout the last four years he has collaborated with songwriters from Germany, Sweden, Switzerland, Canada and the United States.He has created a melodic and bouncy set of 14 pop tracks, from beautiful love ballads to high energy pop songs, with a touch of class, where The Backstreet Boys meet Culture Club.All 14 tracks on this album truly showcase Stevens’ biggest talent, namely writing inspiring and uplifting lyrics that can take you higher any time. “I Try To Fight” which ranks among Stevens’ greatest, is one of his quintessential songs that summarize his philosophy of life. There is a certain degree of sentimentality on THE WIZARD’S CALL, but it never turns drippy such as his critically acclaimed song “Only Love (will make you wise)” proves, which has already been a No 1 hit on MP3.com!
