Artist History
Known as Somnus until mid-2000 when, to avoid any confusion with another band of the same name, the band's name was changed to Insomnis. So from sleep to sleepless. Although Insomnis is primarily a home studio project, we (Eric Lyman-guitar, vocals; Jon Liddiard-acoustic bass) had the opportunity of opening for Low in 1998. |

Press Reviews
"Insomnis shows a great facility for shaping sound, in a highly personalized context. Organic, evocative, an impetus for dreaming..." --M. Gira (Swans, The Angels of Light)...
"Insomnis may not take you away to a restful place where all is peaceful and pleasant. But if you let it, Insomnis will submerge you in a waking dream that is seductive, narcotic and just a little bit really terrifying." --LD Beghtol (Flare, TMF, moth wranglers)...
"That scene in the original Godzilla at the end where Godzilla slowly walks back into the ocean--Insomnis is like that, but with better grammar." --Alan Sparhawk (Low)
