Artist History
Brent Holmes and Todd Eiken, based in the Twin Cities of Minneapolis/ St. Paul, MN spent nearly nine months during the years of 1980 and 1981 in an extremely small mobile home bedroom. Armed with a Les Paul, Gibson SG, a guitar amplifier, one microphone, a drum tracks album called “Drum Drops”, and a four track reel to reel borrowed from a guy named Larry, they wrote, arranged, and recorded incredible tunes. Still suffering from the lingering effects of disco, Brent and Todd wrote these tunes from the heart, with an obvious desire to communicate the energy and passion they were experiencing at the time. Aside from entering and losing a national songwriting contest which cost them fifty bucks, their tunes were simply mixed down to a cassette tape, never to be heard by anyone for nearly 20 years. Adding to the excitement of their music, is the absence of any digital effects. They either couldn’t offered to buy any, or they hadn’t been invented yet. |
