Artist History
After the debut release in 2000, the band has been concentrating on promotion through interviews with magazines, radio stations, and, more than anything else, by presenting their music at many live gigs. In the summer of 2000, the band could be seen at several prestigious festivals. These included the biggest Czech rock festival, Rock For People, along with the metal-orientated Brutal Assault and Metal Breath Tour 2000. At the end of 2000, bassist Pavel left the band. His place was soon taken by a new member, Standa "Vjacki" Pavlik (ex-Mortify). Standa fits perfectly into the group; he had already been a guest growling vocalist on the debut CD. The joint-label, Metal Breath Production & Epidemie Records, is trying to do maximise promotion and distribution in the home country as well as abroad. It's arranged a lot of reviews, interviews in magazines and webzines all around the world. (Let's mention the huge responses from the US, Mexico, Brazil, Japan, Portugal, Spain, France, Netherlands, Canada, South Korea, and Belgium). The most notable concerts that the band has played to date was in support of The Gathering on their tour stop in Prague in 2001; there is also the concert together with the excellent Czech bands Forgotten Silence, SSOGE, (Redblack), and Demimonde (Epidemie) in the Prague club Palac Akropolis. In the first half of 2002, 1000 copies of 1st edition of the debut CD have been sold. DP has a licence with Dark Angel Records on Secretly tapes. So far DP has left Czech borders just to play in Slovakia (twice in Bratislava), and DP is planning concerts in other countries. The composing of new material for the band's second album has been going on for two years and DP came up with various new musical themes. In the autumn, in a studio in Jesenik, and in February in Hacienda studio, Zirovnice, DP worked hard and had important pre-production recording sessions. In Zirovnice, new material was arranged and set up with the great help of Milos Dodo Dolezal. By March, DP was ready to record their new album, Voyage. Final work on the album was done in April. Voyage was successfully released on time on May 17th 2002, this time under the Metal Breath Production label alone. DP is ready like never before to perform their new material at live shows during summer open-air festivals in the Czech Republic. At the end of August, the band will set out on Metal Breath Tour 2002. The tour will take place in over five Czech cities and abroad. |
