Artist description Northern California songwriting/recording duo Tim Sage and Michael Goodell make up The StringBangers. Each have spent more than twenty years refining their individual talents and crafts. Sage writes and sings the songs while Goodell provides multi-instrumentation and production. Their debut album "Sticks & Stones" pulls from popular classic rock sounds and feel, each song a tapestry of emotion and power. The duo is joined on this compilation by keyboardist Kevin Jachetta who's clever arrangements and inspired tracks add multidimensional sounds and character. But this story begins many years before when Sage and Goodell were high school friends and neighbors. Sage was a sports all-star while Goodell played in every musical group school had to offer. Each was a leader and mentor in their respective fields. After school found them on common ground as they put together their first "garage" band called Sunday Sun. The "Sun" played school dances and concerts and became very popular with the "cool" crowd. Their early musical efforts were forged in the wake of Led Zeppelin, Bad Company, The Moody Blues & Creedence Clearwater Revival. As fate would have it, the "team" was split as Sage moved away to follow other dreams of professional sports. Goodell toured the U.S. with concert acts, performed as live entertainer, studio musician, arranger & producer for independent studios & labels all over the West Coast. In this case, lightning indeed strikes twice as the duo joins forces again two decades later to rediscover their true fate. Sage's songwriting skills, meshed with Goodell's talent for production & performance have culminated in this collection of songs that will surely speak volumes to fans of classic rock. Artist History Tim & Michael formed their very first "garage band" while attending Summerville High School in the 70's. Separated for many years, Tim developed his skills as a singer/songwriter while Michael toured with different bands around the U.S., worked as a studio musician/producer for recording studios all around Northern California.
