Press Reviews
The Philadelphia Inquirer, September 26, 1999 - The Funnt File, as the collection of radio-styledramas is called, is so wacky it's almost giddy. The action is set well into the years beyond 2000.In the first episode, Funnt is captured by Ludditeterrorists who want to somehow overcome the UnitedCosmos. In [another] episode, he and his crew comeacross a planet where the inhabitants never heardof shaving and think getting rid of facial hair issacrilege. The characters include an eternally disgusted female doctor with whom Funnt is eternally enamored and a spacehead named Freak, who seems as if he's been caught in a 1960s time warp. The sound effects make you feel as if you'rinside a video machine, the music is so dippy it reminds one of a 1950s sitcom, and the dialogue will make you cringe. Juvenile? Of course. Loony? You bet. The crazy thing is, this is all intentional. And it works. So go ahead and get in touch with your InnerAdolescent. It's worth the ride. |
