Artist description
What can be said about The Drop that actually makes sense? Not too much, to be honest. From the bizarre band monikers (Sugar and Roman are both Drop members) to the intense, head-crushing live shows where ex-girlfriends turn up en masse wielding knives, to the inclusion of a song about the President's daughter sitting on their faces right in the middle of the black mass that is 'The New Horror Guidelines,' nothing in Drop-Land sits snugly. And that's kind-of the point. Listen to this record and you might find yourself challenged, entertained and awed. Even better, you might think you have just found one of the great secret debut CD's of the year. When, in actuality, it just found you. |

Press Reviews
Performing their mix of heady yet sensual tunes, The Drop stood and delivered with extreme confidence. Singer/guitarist Chris is an intense individual given to impromptu bar-room discussions of deconstructionist literary theory. Six-string bassist Sugar, the band's soft-spoken sex symbol, sports black leather pants, a lingering reminder of his youthful beginnings in several Idaho metal bands. Together this band forges a compelling, body-mind package of expansive tunes out of expressive, echo-laden guitarscapes and lead singer Chris' expressive vocals. By the point in their set when the band reached "Carl Jung," Seattle's radio hit of the moment, Chris' legion of female admirers were crowded up against the stage, afire with desire, and screaming.
