His professional background and creative input into the music industry is legendary. At just 14 years of age he was a pioneer in the fledgling Rock ‘n’ Roll industry and went on to tour as a member of THE TELSTARS, THE DELLTONES, THE EXECUTIVES, AYERS ROCK, FRIENDS, DYNASTY, THE BRIAN CADD BAND and the list goes on. He has performed on many TV shows in Australia and the U.S.A. Throughout his career Ray has toured and played support with many famous internationals such as: BILLY JOEL, THE SMALL FACES, THE WHO, PAUL JONES FROM THE MANFRED MANN GROUP, THE SPENCER DAVIS GROUP, AMERICA, PROCUL HAREM, LITTLE RIVER BAND, HELEN REDDY, PJ PROBY, JOAN ARMATRADING, JIMMY WEBB and DAVE MASON who was once a member of Steve Winwood’s legendary English band “Traffic”. Ray cut an album of his own songs for Paramount Records in America. That particular album, “STRIVE, SEEK & FIND” was voted as the best album release for an entire month on the American FM radio charts. Much of Rays story is a long time ago now, but the fact is he was right there in the thick of it all and gained a wealth of timeless hands on experience from all of these chart topping international performers. Ray gained valuable international experience that he still utilizes today. In fact in 1996 he won the Rhythm & Blues Gospel category in the internationally contested SOUTH PACIFIC SONG CONTEST. Note: . . Many years ago Ray co-wrote the international smash hit “I AM WOMAN” with Helen Reddy. This song sold so rapidly that he received gold and platinum records within the first few weeks of release. This popular song has since gone many times platinum and Ray has received several coveted awards for his songwriting expertise. I Am Woman still remains as the number one anthem for the women’s movement right across the globe and in 1997 I Am Woman was used again in a scene from the movie “MY BEST FRIENDS WEDDING” starring the very beautiful “Pretty Woman” JULIA ROBERTS. Ray’s other movie credits include: Co-writing the song “BEST FRIEND” sung by the nun [Helen Reddy] to the girl on the plane in the movie “AIRPORT 75”. He also had two songs placed in the Warner Bothers movie “RABBIT RUN” starring JAMES CAAN from “THE GODFATHER” fame. Ray spent 9 action packed years touring across the U.S.A. because the Americans loved his soulful voice and style. When he returned to Australia from the U.S.A. he recorded a solo album for WARNER BROS using the famous Australian band CROSSFIRE as his backup band. This album turned out to be one of the most respected musical albums of the time in Australia. From this milestone album Ray scored two national hit songs, they were: “TOO HARD TO HANDLE” and “PADDINGTON GREEN”. Even today this album is well worth a close listen. Ray has a brand new CD to be released very soon and if the early demo’s we have heard are any indication, his songwriting talents, musical arrangements and lead vocals are again superb. One of the power tracks entitled “GOING FOR GOLD” is so inspirational it will raise the hair on the back of your neck and send an electric rush straight to your cerebral cortex. Another great track is “SHE IS WOMAN” which is Rays latest re-write of the ageless “I Am Woman” that he wrote so long ago. Alan has also toured with 10cc and as one of London’s top session players, has recorded with the who’s who of rock music including Eric Clapton. Mark Kennedy – Drums Mark is one of Australia’s leading session players and live venue musicians. He has played with just about everyone at the top of the Australian music tree including Renee Geyer, Doug Parkinson, Marcia Hines and Kevin Borich. Mark has also recorded and toured with Ayers Rock, Duran Duran and Men at Work. Greg Lyon – Bass & Vocals Greg Lyon achieved national acclaim many years ago for his part in the cutting edge jazz-rock fusion band Crossfire. He has been in great demand ever since as a session and backing musician playing with a host of Australian and International artists including Georgie Fame and Alvin Bishop.
