Artist History
In the fall of 1998 Jon Nixon, Larry Rubincam, and Brandon Rapp quit the local punk band CONCRETE 11. Looking for their own band to create their own sound they chose to hired local metal guitarist Pete Diferdinando. Jon knew Pete from working together at a local grocery store. The band (now named NEVUR) rehearsed for roughly four or five months with the original line up of Jon on vocals, Larry and Pete on guitar, Brandon on drums, and good freind Greg Cooper on bass. Later on a freind of the band told about her bassplayer ex-boyfreind. The man was Ben Gouba. "Ben is really a pro... he's absolutly the best bass player i've ever played with" explains NEVUR's current guitarist Alan Ault. The band was now ready to take on the local scene. NEVUR's first show was a party at a freinds house. "The party got started late, all the beer got stolen, we had to put sleeping bags on the windows to keep the sound in, and our PA system died on us. All in all, it was a normal evening in the world of NEVUR!" rambles Brandon. Weeks later NEVUR would make a move and add Alan Ault and Steve Entrekin as part of the road crew! "I would take care of the sound and Steve would set up the drums and such. We would record the gigs, that was a pain!" explains Alan. Soon after that the band did a show that they had put on themselves at a local community center. Five bands including themselves were scheduled to play. The three main acts Aston Family Reunion, NEVUR, and Skurj played a killer set to around 100 plus excited youngsters. After that, the band played a few more shows (including a show at a local church!) Due to problems with Larry the band made the descision to replace him with the then "sound-dude" Alan Ault. "He was just the nuttiest thing you've ever seen!!! He listens to Glam Metal but my God could he play killer guitar!" (Brandon's worthless opinion of Alan). This now leaves the sound man position to Steve...(may God help us!!!) The band now felt that the lineup was now full and complete, NEVUR began its seige of the Lancaster music scene! Nevur's first big break was when they rocked THE CHAMELEON CLUB! "I think its gonna take a couple years till were really really good... but what were doing now really brings people to the shows! People really dig what were doin...i think that with a little more practice we'll be the band to see!" explains Alan. NEVUR has the most loyal, coolest, kick ass fans anyone could ever ask for. Now as NEVUR begins to take on the state, world take note...your next!!! |
