Artist History
Maggie was born in Muskegon Michigan on May 24th 1951.One of ten children in the family. At the age of seven the piano lessons started and she started on her musical career.At the age of ten she was asked to be the Church Organist, which she gladly accepted and continued her musical education. Maggie jumped rigt in and studied Classical Voice and Piano throughout Grade school and High school. Performing every chance she got at Concerts, Recitals, Musicals and Dramas. Maggie would travel to Talent contests every chance she had, and won a fair share of the ones that she competed in. After graduating from high school it was time to see the country and she set off on a two year trek around the U.S. playing and singing for audiences every chance she got. Her travels took her to Seattle Washington, where she settled for a little while and played several of the Piano Bars in the Seattle area. Seven years passed and the desire to see more of the world led her to the Islands of Hawaii. In Hawaii Maggie performed in several of the better known night spots like the "Black Orchid" in Honolulu owned by movie star Tom Sellek. Maggie was also a regular as an opening act for Concerts in Hawaii. Some of the Stars she has opened for include, Dave Brubeck, Taj Mahal, Richie Havens, Jesse Colin-Young, Kenny Rankin, Michael Franks, The Crusaders, Phoebe Snow, George Winston and many more. Maggie was also the president of the Santa Barbara Song Writers Guild for two and a half years. Maggie wrote the song "If My Love Is Blind" for MGM, and this song was featured in the film "Spell Binder". Today Maggie is on the Island of Lanai in Hawaii and performs several nights a week at the Hotel there. This is Maggies third album of original music! |
