Artist History
Ginseng officially formed on the 1st January 2000. They set about creating their own unique view on and style of music. They first experimented with several instruments and forms of modern audio equipment. As they progressed they settled into their sound incorporating the more traditional forms such as Southern Blues and 70's rock. A fine blend of past and present was achieved bringing about an energetic but warm soulful sound.
Paul first conceived the name Ginseng when he played in a garage band with Bernie over 6 years ago. His intention was to create music that had the same euphoric effect as Ginseng. After the band dissolved Paul retained the name eventually enlisting Bernie in late 1999 when they met with Dave.
Dave was first introduced to Paul and Bernie as a session guitarist to perform on a studio recording that they were working on. They were mutually impressed and a strong alliance grew. After hearing Dave's songs on an acoustic demo both Paul and Bernie were eager to add their own interpretation. The new instalment of Ginseng was born.
Veterans of several live music venues throughout Dublin, Ginseng are steadily making their rise. Having built their support base from gigs in Whelans, Eamonn Dorans, The Temple Bar Music Centre, Isaac Butts and many more, they are still eager to play.
