    Artist description
you've reached the second site for BILLY ANDERSON. this site will feature new material as well as"IMMACULATE MISCONCEPTION" (VOLS.2 and 3). it is basically a continuation of material offered at my other site:mp3.com/billyanderson. also visit www.mp3.com/billyanderson3 for my newest album "LOADED".------------- PRESS RELEASE------------------------------ BULLETIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!------DATELINE NASHVILLE--------A LEGEND RETURNS--------BILLY ANDERSON, ROCK 'N ROLL FRONTMAN AND MULTI-INSTRUMENTALIST OF THE SEVENTIES AND EIGHTIES HAS RETURNED TO ACTIVE DUTY IN THE MUSIC MILITIA. As lead singer and keyboardist for regional favorites THE FLAT CREEK BAND he was opening act for seventies touring bands: CRAZY HORSE,THE ISLEY BROS., QUICKSILVER MESSENGER SERVICE, THE ALLMAN BROS., WET WILLIE, THE CHARLIE DANIELS BAND and others. After pursuing a music degree at the University of Tennessee as a Grace Moore Scholar, he formed THE SWINGS, a touring band that worked in the midwest and southern United States extensively in the mid-seventies. In the eighties he toured internationally with Nashville based country artists such as JEANNIE C. RILEY, DAVID ALLAN COE and others. In a conscious effort to leave touring behind and after marrying highly regarded William Morris Agency agent GINGER ANDERSON, Billy reinvented himself as an engineer/producer in the country-dominated Nashville scene. in the studio he has worked with PAM TILLIS and LEE ROY PARNELL, as well as grammy-nominated writers such as WENDELL MOBLEY.Two thousand sessions later, Billy is currently a much-in-demand mastering engineer, producer, musician and studio owner. He has numerous solo CDs to his credit. Most notable are IMMACULATE MISCONCEPTION (a 30 year retrospective) and OBSTINATO (his current instrumental compilation). He has recently begun writing again with long time friend and collaborator ROGER FERGUSON. Nashville area performances with TRIO MYSTERIOSO, a band made up of former members of THE DINOSAURS (a Nashville staple during the nineties), have kept Billy's chops sharp. THE SWINGS, that seventies stalwart mentioned earlier, also incorporated the talents of Billy's childhood friend R. STEVIE MOORE, originator of D.I.Y. home recordings and cult hero (included in ROLLING STONE'S 100 Most Influential Alternative Albums of all time). A lifetime musical relationship was forged that would lead to the following announcement: BILLY ANDERSON will be joining R. STEVIE MOORE for a 2 week/ 4 city tour April 24th-May 3rd of ENGLAND, GERMANY, and HOLLAND. Under the auspices of FanMael Records and CARL VAN BREUKELEN in Holland, performances are scheduled for LONDON, BERLIN, FRANKFURT, and AMSTERDAM. The rollicking twosome will rave it up with acoustic versions of songs taken primarily from the R. STEVIE MOORE catalog. Songs by SPARKS and Billy will round out their opening set for rock-comedy sensations THE SQUIRRELS. Future projects for BILLY ANDERSON and R.STEVIE MOORE include completion of the movie soundtrack for WHELP!, a rocumentary of their EUROPEAN TOUR 2000 and GLASSES, a new compilation CD of classic '60's remakes, recorded via the wonders of snail-mail overdubs. ---------------------------------------------ed. note: unfortunately this tour was cancelled and will be rescheduled at a future date.

"Dear Lady" is cool. Thanks for saying our names and our city. Jeff will be thrilled when he hears it. A lot of new stuff I never heard. Quite Beatle-esque, in some cases. Very compelling. Now I'm waiting for "Scotch Before Noon". I really enjoyed your instrumentals, gonna have to pop it in and play along. Would love to hear the story about "The Tide", it evokes such good emotions, must've been a dreamy experience. "Love's Music..." will be fun to pick with, lots of room to play along as well as ""There She Goes". Nice guitar in it too.   I am hearing your voice for the first time, solo, and i'm really glad you created this piece of work for all of us to enjoy!   More to follow, thanks for the music, Cliffie ----------------------------------------------     Saved message From: (D. Gregory) Date: Thu, Nov 25, 1999, 12:23am (CST+6) To: anderman@webtv.net (Billy Anderson) Subject: Billy's Album Is Here At Last Hello Billy - well it took 10 days in the mail but your Impeccable Compendium arrived safe and sound yesterday; what a wonderful document! Man, there's a heap of great stuff in here. I'm playing Spot The Influence, y'know, sounds like Utopia, must be '82; now it's Costello, gotta be '79 or '80 - yep, I'm pretty close! The love you put into it is tangible, and it's a real treat to listen to. Favourites so far: Europe, brilliant little song made all the more magical by its creators being schoolboys with big dreams, just as we all were; Dear Lady (hope this isn't your last collaboration with Mr. Moore) - lovely chorus, and thanks for the name-check! Everybody Wants To Be Somebody Else, now there's a hit waiting for someone; The Toothpaste Lasts Forever, for its perfectly Nashville lyric; but look, I've only listened the once and I know there's a load more to discover. Thanks for sending it over Billy, and yes - Dates does indeed rock!  All the best, Dave G. ----------------------------------------------    Saved message From: (M. Friedman) Date: Tue, Nov 23, 1999, 10:28pm (CST+1) To: anderman@webtv.net (Billy Anderson) Subject: a site for sore eyes Billy, I'm listening to your cd (disc one) right now and still can't get over how many styles you tackle with relative ease. Recieved your CD today, and I wanted to thank you. you are a truly talented man! I'm almost through the second disc now, and I am pleasanty surprised. It is a very unique format, or "tossed salad" as it is refered to. I had to let you know how much I am enjoying it! "The toothpaste lasts forever" hits home with me, for sure, and I laughed out loud when i heard it!! I can tell by listening how much was put into the whole thing, and if I were to sum it up in a word, it would have to be "FUN". The feeling I get listening to it is how much fun you must have had over all these years, making this wonderful compilation. Thanks again, Billy! I will hold this collection dear for a long time to come!
