Artist History
- 'Zone 4' is a four-member, original rock/alternative band that originated in Chili, WI. The band's three original members went by the name 'The Sexy Pigs' and played mostly small venues around Central Wisconsin, including a Battle of the Bands in Thorp that the band won. After a few years under that moniker, the band (Paul Knoff - guitar, vocals; Dan Schiller - drums; Pat Martin - bass) added Don Knoff to the line-up as the lead vocalist. Things immediately began to progress. The band began to churn out more emotional, creative material and has begun a series of self-promoted music festivals called 'AlternaJam'. The first festival took place in Neillsville where over 300 people filled the American Legion. Since then, four more such events have taken place giving great local bands such as 'Cringe', 'Shivaree', 'Feed A Hungry Hippy', 'Noise Museum', 'Common Courtesy', etc, a chance to play in a setting where cover material was not mandatory. Since that year, the band has changed bassists twice, and now with Claire Draeger in place for over two years, the band has returned to its signature tight sound. While the band has been compared to a number of other artists, ('Pearl Jam', 'U2', 'The Cure', 'Tool') their goal is and always will be to remain an original band that continues to expand their musical vocabulary by writing meaningful songs that can stand the test of time. |
