Artist History
In late January 1998, ex-Colorspace guitarist J.K. Lawrence and ex-Trazar vocalist Zap Tripper, combined forces to compose the mysteriously intriguing sound that is Tripelexir. During the completion of the self-titled debut C.D., backup vocalist, Barbara Strange was introduced and featured on the songs 'The Deal' and 'The Devil in My Engine'. All songs were recorded and mastered at 'The Velvet Alley' in St. Louis by Mike Phillip, who's imaginitive and individualistic approach resulted in the dreamy, yet aggressive effect that renders this working unique in its own class |

Tripelexir: 'The Book of Coming Forth by Night'
When I was first in contact with frontman, Zap Tripper, I had no idea what I was in store for. I was literally blown away from this release. Zap Tripper is the vocalist for this energetic band. Aiding him is guitarist /synthesist, J.K. Lawerence and Barbara Strange who also provides vocals. Their style isn't like that of conventional goth/darkwave bands. Zap's voice has a wide range and is amazing along with the lyrics the emotions are there. The element of J.K. Lawerence's programming and guitar playing makes for a menacing sound that takes you deep within the catacombs darken emotions. Barbara's voice accents Zap's voice excellent and the three work really well togehter. The Book Of Coming Forth By Night is their most recent release and the energy never stops from beginning to end. This release is intense on
many levels and the richness of it along with the well produced quality makes this a favorite of mine by far.
Tripelexir: 'Tripelexir'
A lot rawer than their new release this self title master piece gives you an idea of the madness that drives Zap, and J.K. Barbara Strange was first introduced on the songs "The Deal" and "The Devil In My Engine". This is as impressive as their newest release is. The dark tones are there and Zap's vocals are still quite amazing. This proves by putting both releases back to back you can see the actual evolution of Tripelexir. I really like both releases and they strongly stand on their own proving that Tripelexir has a promising future. The power in the programming and the guitar make really intense and moving music. I am looking forward to future releases from them because they have proven to keep getting better with each release. Highly recommended for your listening pleasure you will keep in heavy rotation in your CD player I guarentee it.
