Press Reviews Florida's THE YOUNG AND THE USELESS have just joined the THORP RECORDS roster. THE YOUNG & THE USELESS is a band of four young men who are disenfranchised with the female species and have utilized their alienation by transforming it into a whirlwind of ac hing progressive metalcore with a distinct spiritual locus of control. THE YOUNG & THE USELESS have not lived up to their name because they play highly useful music that sounds like a cross-polination between Dillinger Escape Plan. Vision of Disorder, Z a o, Poison the Well and even melodic passages drenched with heartbreak that resemble Saves the Day. THE YOUNG AND THE USELESS successfully transform their youth, heartbreak, and faith into a diverse eclectic mix of progressive metal/hardcore in a way t h at will force-feed faithand hope into even the most severe of broken hearts. Their THORP RECORDS debuty is tentatively planned for release sometime fall 2001. In the meantime the band has plenty of shows and festivals scheduled with the likes of Zao, G l as se ater, Living Sacrifice, Embodyment, and many others. -andy - Thorp Records the young and the useless review from - BostonHardcore.org www.younganduseless.co m thorp records debut demo thorp records given to me by the young and the useless themselves, the cd-r advance they gave me only said www.younganduseless.com, so i didn't know what the name of the album is, but i'll tell you this...this album is brutal. i love it. this is the kind of old school/new school hybrid that i love. 10 blistering tracks by this amazing band. the singer's voice is just damn harsh. this is one tough band. these guys remind me like a more melodic american nigh tmare, just as good, and just as tight and well oiled. this band is definitely going to make a major impact if they keep this up. i am definitely looking forward to seeind
