Artist History Philthy Basement started back in 1991 with just two members, Squirrel & Face in thabasement of their parents home. Starting with only a 8 Track Reel to Reel, Face andSquirrel banged out songs left and right and started sales of their music out of the trunk oftheir cars. As time progressed so did the money, equipment and the respect of others forwhat they were doing. In 1996, Philthy Basement had 5 more members join and theycalled themselves "HoodFellaz". From there everyone got involved in learning the musicbusiness and doing shows, but at the time we had no material to sell so we spent 6 monthsin the studio getting enough material to sell. Finally in 1997 the debut CD fromHoodFellaz was released. It really didn't do too well because we couldn't get outside of St.Louis to sell it until 1998, that's when everyone in the group went in different directions ofthe US to promote the group. None of the songs got played on the radio but a lot ofpeople in a lot of places heard us so one of our goals were completed. Now we want morepeople to hear us.
