Artist History
Mike Alvarez, Mike Buck and Byron Scott have been long-time music collaborators. Buck played on Alvarez's 1985 hit single and Kevin West music video "The Night I Watched You Sleep". These recording sessions were tracked one day in 1994 at Austin's Music Lane Studios (with Wayne Gaithwright engineering most of the tracks). There were two additional songs tracked in addition to the four songs released as "Love". "Prairie Rose" was a collaboration between Alvarez and 80-year old accomplished church hymn songwriter Carlton Buck (no relation to Mike). Another track, an obscure Velvet Underground song, was brought to the sessions by Mike Buck, who suggested the tune would fit the trio's style. It is planned for these two tracks to be finished by Austin engineer/musician Schuyler Hupp in the summer of 2000. The two songs will be added to the "Love" ep or released as a single. |
