Artist History
Margaret Pearman is from Ipswich, Suffolk. After training in singing and piano at the Trinity College of Music she was awarded a Countess of Munster Scholarship to study on the opera course at Guildhall School of Music and Drama. After her training she joined the Royal Opera House, and whilst there performed Laetita in Menotti's The Old Maid and the Thief for the friends of Covent Garden. She then accepted solo contracts and has sung in Israel, the USA, Pakistan, Switzerland as well as Wales, Scotland, the Channel Isles and England. Her roles include Cio Cio San (Madama Butterfly), Violetta (La Traviata), Lisa (Land of Smiles), the title role in Aida, Leonora (Il Trovatore), Margherita (Mefistofele), Abigaille (Nabucco), Amelia (Un Ballo in Maschera) and Fiordiligi (Cosi fan tutte). Also Mimi (La Boheme). She currently sings the title role in Tosca for London Opera Players and performed Violetta in La Traviata during the summer of 1998 for English Festival Opera at Holland Park. Margaret also takes part in many operatic concerts. |
