    Artist description
"Blow Them Away Into Nothingness" is the criminally overdue debut of singer and songwriter Helen Zachariah. Passionate, committed and singular in voice and word, Helen is an enormous talent whose confinement thus far to Swansea is inexplicable. Born and bred in Swansea, Wales' second city, Helen has long been an artist renowned locally for her highly original and challenging song writing.
    Music Style
This is folk, this is punk. This is fucking brilliant.
    Artist History
In the early 80's her proto-Grrrrrl combo 'The Greedy Girls' terrified punk gentlefolk and so impressed the 'then-nobody' Liam Gallagher that he pretended for months to be a Mute rep before blowing his cover and absconding with a beloved demo, the fate to which may be explained by certain dubious samples. Then followed years pitching her songs to drunk people in Swansea dives. One night last year, Datawhore –an expatriate alien and erstwhile experimental rave pretender – scouted her as genius and, after negotiating the obstacle course of the Cosmos, inveigled NDN Records of Texas to pop for an album budget. Produced blind along principles of Zen archery, first take bravado and sheer belligerence by Datawhore - whose inability to play an instrument has not prevented him rendering a production worthy of punk 2050 - “Blow Them Away Into Nothingness” stands as an astringent to the current vogue for cutesy folk chicks, with Helen's vocal attack and frankly primitive guitar style providing a wake-up call to a world junk food and Playstation sick. Comprising twelve tracks recorded in Swansea’s Motherland studios with local musicians, “Blow Them Away Into Nothingess” is a stylistic blizzard where country meets techno and mediocrity meets its nemesis. It’s like nothing and everything you’ve heard: and better than either. Featuring “I Trip”, “The Army Song” and “Ancient Texts”, all potential singles, “Blow Them Away Into Nothingness” is the only album you’ll need this or any other year: It rocks, it folks, it fucks with your head. To promote the album, NDN will release a single, “Supersonic Survivor”, in June. In addition, an acoustic take of "The Addict" is included, another class standard. Despite its implicit spirit power, Helen's music is not the stuff of weekend warrior flakedom, as "She's Head" proves. Recorded for next to nothing, in no time at the home studio of 'Zone' founder Andrew Cadsmore, and with negligible preparation, "Save The Plants / Supersonic Survivor" merges two of Helen's awesome set standards "Supersonic" / "She's Head") with the newer "Save The Plants", the latter composed and recorded to a tight brief and schedule dictated by her guardian angels.
