Brian Derek studied Electric Bass and Composition( also scoring for Strings, Winds, Brass and Big Band)at Berklee College of Music. He has since been involved in many recording and performance projects. He is of the opinion that while having a good education helps, there is nothing like having "real" life experience from gigs and recording and working in as many different musical situations as possible. Brian has played with Mike Stern, Peter Erskine, Pat Metheny, Jay McShann, Stephen Stills, The Brubeck Bros., Neal Sedaka and The 5th Dimension amoung countless others. He currently teaches el. bass technique and jazz harmony/theory in the greater northern Indiana area. The band COSMIC TRUTH originated in Chicago in 1995; they have performed many club dates and corporate functions and gigs like Billboard magazines`Dance Summit 1996. To catch the band in concert, you will notice and be caught-up in the high-energy that these guys put out; so much so that people would be driven to fits of elation and uncontrollable dancing. Cosmic Truth is a combination of Improvised Jazz, World Fusion, Latin, Funk and Free Improvisation. The music included here on MP3 is Original, HOT and FREE so ENJOY!!
