Artist History
Antara & Delilah met at a Jim Messina Songwriter's Workshop in October 1997, when they first began experimenting and putting harmonies together. Immediately impressed and encouraged by the harmonies they were creating, a partnership was soon born. It wasn't long before their provocative voices were being heard at venues throughout Santa Barbara, Ventura and Los Angeles counties. A cd soon followed; self-produced, Dua was released in January 2000.Since the debut of their CD last year, they have played in venues throughout California including The Mint and The Gig in Los Angeles, and the Four Corners Folk Festival in Pagosa Springs CO where they were invited to conducted a harmony workshop. They've played shows to full houses in Duluth, Austin, Boston and New York City and were featured on the Kenny Loggin's Christmas Unity Telethon. They also contributed harmonies to projects for other artists including Russell Kleinknecht, Cindy Alter, Doug Ingoldsby, and Heather Stevenson. In addition to having won "CD of the Year" on kweevak.com, their song "Out of the Blue" was chosen for inclusion on a compilation CD to raise awareness of solar energy use. Their plans for the coming year include a 2 week tour of the western states and hopefully some festival spots. |
