The band is firmly rooted in the bebop tradition and continues to explore and incorporate that music into their own personalized style. Their influences include Miles Davis, Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers, Johnny Griffin, Charlie Parker, Dexter Gordon, Ahmad Jamal, Gene Ammons, Eddie "Lockjaw" Davis, John Coltrane, Wayne Shorter, Cedar Walton and the subsequent bands that these people played with. |

Artist History
The band has been together for five years and has had some personnel changes over the years. The most current group features Rusty Scott on piano, Tim Mayer on Tenor, Keala Kaumeheiwa on bass, and Aaron Thurston or Harold Layne on Drums. The people in the band photo are Keala, Aaron, Tim, and Rusty. Currently the band is based in Boston and does gigs throughout greater New England.
