Artist description
The band's uncategorizable sound is an original blend of many musical styles. While there are characteristics of Jazz, Rock, African, Cajun, Middle Eastern, and many other Folk styles, the driving force behind MonkeyWorks is the group chemistry. |

Press Reviews
Hi Monkeymen. This is John Hammel (WNTI Radio in NJ), host of Mozart To Motorhead, It'sAll Just Music. I had Ian on the show with Ping a short while back andhe slipped me your incredible cd. Believe it or not I also know KevinTex Brown. Ian is coming on the show in July and we're gonna spin thedisc and yak up the album. Yeah I still call them albums. I think themusic is fantastic. Innovative, challenging and intelligent. It almostseems superfluous to describe the influences I hear. It's moot. You'vecombined them with your own distinctive take and sensibilities andforged your own thing. That's what artists are supposed to do. This issheer artistry and not hack work. I support and intend to shout it tothe world. Yeah, I'm a monkeyman too! |
