Artist History
I am a child of the 70's at least that is when I graduated High School. I could not (and still can not) figure out how to play Stairway to Heaven or Free Bird so I wrote my own music. I began enjoying music at an early age with the help of an old Victrola and listening to my parents records by Dave Brubeck, Mahalia Jackson, Floyd Cramer, The Hi-Lo's, Peter, Paul and Mary, The Kingston Trio and many, many more. I remember my mom faithfully watching the Old Time Gospel Hour every weekday at noon. My favorite artist as a young adult inclded Yes, Jethro Tull, John Denver, Elton John and James Taylor. On Saturday mornings I would go out to my dad's Chrysler New Yorker and I would press on the brakes, turn on the emergengy flashers and the blinkers and for some reason that would allow me to listen to the radio without having to sneak into my dad's room and lift the keys. That is where I heard James Taylor's "Fire and Rain" for the first time, at which point I had an epiphany knowing that if some day I could express my feelings like he did with words and music that . . . well I honestly believed that I could never be that expressive. But low and behold years later I started chronicalling my joys and my hardships with the help of a guitar |
