    Artist History
The originator of Wayfarer music, Composer/Producer, Lawrence Moore is a classically-trained art music composer with an MM in Composition/Theory from Pennsylvania State University. His eclectic interests in various genres, styles, and cultural influences in music encouraged the founding of Wayfarer. Wayfarer music draws upon diverse elements and influences in music to bring together a powerful experience in sound as a form o aural sorcery. Wayfarer has a strong presence on the internet that goes beyond the distribution of Wayfarer masc. The Wayfarer Project's Artist Community is a collection of online artists and music lovers who wish to contribute to the growth of music on the internet and the spread of quality music to wider audiences. We now have the technology to have artists' music available to anyone in the world who wants to listen. Now, we just need to let the listening audience know what great music is out there and how to find it.Wayfarer began in the summer of 1994 in Annville, PA during Moore's undergraduate study at Lebanon Valley College. During this time, Moore collaborated with Steve Raab (saxophone, keyboards) and Willie Carmona (trumpet, congas) in making a live and studio-studio based new music ensemble. Wayfarer performed for various arts and music event sin the Central PA as work began on various electro-acoustic recordings. At this time, Moore also worked with keyboardist, Andy Marone and Rock Steady Records Producer, Andrew "George" Hamlin. These sessions laid much of the inspirational groundwork for Wayfarer's future experimental path. In the fall of 1996, Wayfarer's line up disintegrated as college partnerships often do. Now in State College, PA, Moore now works with guitarist, Bradley Hinton, who was a major contributor to the Sanctuary album. Sanctuary was the first full length Wayfarer release, which has been officially release in August of 2000. During many of the early recording sessions for Sanctuary, Moore and Hinton collaborated with vocalist and lyricist, Q De RHINO. These sessions are not available for public release, however, were landmark in the achievement of blending improvisational poetry and vocals with the sonic stories already in the music.Recently (Spring 2001), The Wayfarer Project moved to Miami, FL. Moore plans to continue graduate studies at the University of Miami,. This new location, environment, and art scene will be fertile soil for the continued growth of The Wayfarer Project. The new era of Wayfarer will be hailed by the release of two albums, Struggle - Featuring Bradley Hinton and When the Shadows Came Upon Us All. After the release of these albums, Moore is planning to create a live program for performances int he Miami area. The program will include new music as well as music from the three Wayfarer album releases, arranged for the new ensemble. This will be an adventurous undertaking that will allow Wayfarer music to reach a boroader spectrum of people. Auditoriums, theatres, banquet rooms, and sound stages will be ideal venues for these performances. These plans are in the works for a fall performance schedule. Updates and performance dates will be available on the News page over the summer. Keep checking back, Wayfarer is embarking on a poerful journey and wants you to be a part of it!
