Artist description
pop-rock with a side of extra rock. Mix various backgrounds of indie-pop, punk, hard rock, electric pop and other noisy genres and you produce popbandALICE. Live the shows are energetic, engaging, and sweaty. Each member adds their own touch and personality. Far from a cut and paste band, PBA keeps alive the basics of underground music- personality, good vibes, and loud music. While key influences include Imperial Teen, That Dog, and Fountains of Wayne, the end result comes off far from those. A listener can also taste chunks of Smashing Pumpkins, The Pixies, Sonic Youth, Bis, Veruca Salt, and many more. Listing influences is actually pretty redundant, check them out and see what you find. |

Press Reviews
"hey, folks, i saw popbandALICE last night i really liked the show alot. Personally i got a pixies vibe from popbandalice, which is a very good thing. Justin has this kinda sweet-nice-guy-psycho-punk thing going, very cool- and fab drummer!! You folks better be nice Justin, you might want back stage passes one day, when he's a big rock star!!"-Bunny "Alice!, Alice!, who the fu*k is Alice?" Well, she's in a great guitar pop band!" -dash x records mp3 radio, Nottingham, Notts, UK"With its six members (three girls and three boys), popbandALICE creates tunes that are catchy and creative. This first EP, "A Return to the Garden of Verses" is a promising release that shows that these kiddos will only improve with every passing year. Lyrically, Popband Alice displays sophistication developed through poetic landscapes that pays homage to bands like Imperial Teen, Self and Eels. Altogether popbandALICE is worth listening to because one day when they become indie rock stars, you can say that you knew them before anyone else." -Christine Long, Long Beach Student UnionThe melodic guitar rifts, keyboard interludes and angelic voices of the background vocalists add to the overall appeal of this album. |
