Artist description
Naked Poets are hard to pin down - but they are easy to fall in love with just the same. Their sound blends the acoustic & electric, poetry & storytelling - it draws as much inspiration from the Doors as it does from Ellis Paul. And with a rhythm section this strong, you can even dance to it! |

Artist History
Frontman David Leo wrote his first song at age four, and also writes poetry - which you can find on the band's website, www.nakedpoets.net. Bassist Daniel Mostovoy plays both the upright & electric bass, with a compelling energy & grace. Lead guitarist Matt Dahlgren is a virtuoso with a style all his own, and drummer/ percussionist Mike Hastings never ceases to amaze, covering everything from subtlety to thunder.Naked Poets have played all around the Boston area, since forming in early '99 under the name Mona Lisa's Lover. Their live show is full of energy & surprises, whether playing a rock club like TT the Bear's Place, or an acoustic venue like the Kendall Cafe. Their recent EP is available at their shows, and they'll be recording their first full length album this summer. Poetic Rock is alive & kicking in the new millennium! |
